  • Advanced Data Recovery: Our core function helps you with photo recovery, video recovery, and audio recovery.
  • AI Image Enhancer: After you restore old photos, use our built-in AI to automatically enhance their quality, sharpen details, and improve colors.
  • Smart Junk Remover: Our junk cleaner intelligently scans for and helps you remove duplicate files, large media, and other unnecessary data.
  • Detailed Storage Analysis: Get a clear, visual breakdown of your phone's storage to manage your device storage with confidence.
  • Secure File Locker: Protect your privacy with a password by locking photos, videos, and documents in a secure vault.

This Policy is a legally binding agreement. By downloading, installing, or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the data practices described herein.

2. OUR PRIVACY COMMITMENT

Your privacy is paramount. Our approach is founded on the core principle that your personal files and data should never leave your device.

  • On-Device Processing: Most app operations, including file scanning, recovery, and file locking, are performed 100% locally on your device.
  • Ephemeral Processing for AI Enhancement: For our AI Image Enhancer feature, your selected image is transmitted to our servers for the sole purpose of real-time processing. This process is designed with zero long-term retention; the data exists on our servers only for the seconds it takes to generate the enhanced image.
  • No Collection of Personal Files: We state unequivocally that ReVive does not collect, store, upload, or share any of your personal files for any purpose other than the instantaneous AI enhancement process. Your data remains private and under your control.
  • Data Minimization: We are committed to collecting only the absolute minimum data necessary for the App to function and improve, primarily for technical support and advertising purposes. We never access the content of your files for any other reason.
  • Transparency: We are committed to being open and clear about how our App works and why it requires certain permissions and processes to perform its functions.

3. DATA WE COLLECT AND PROCESS

To provide and improve our Services, we collect a limited amount of technical data.

a. Data We DO NOT Collect

To be perfectly clear, we never collect, transmit, or store:

  • Any photos, videos, audio files, or documents on your device (whether deleted or active).
  • Any files you choose to recover or lock within the App.
  • Any personal data generated from the AI Image Enhancer.

b. Technical & Usage Data (Collected Automatically for Service Operation and Advertising)

To ensure our App functions correctly, to resolve technical issues, and to support our advertising-based model, we automatically collect certain non-personal technical data.

(i) What we collect:

  • Device and Network Information: Your device manufacturer and model, operating system version, and network state (e.g., Wi-Fi).
  • Application and Advertising Identifiers: Your device's advertising identifier (e.g., Google Advertising ID on Android) and the App's version.
  • Usage and Interaction Data: Information about your interactions with the Services, such as app launches, features used, and clicks. This data is aggregated and anonymized.

(ii) Why we collect it:

To maintain and improve our Services, analyze usage trends, fix bugs, and facilitate our advertising monetization which keeps the app's core features free.

4. OUR USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)

  • AI Functionality: The purpose of our AI is the "AI Image Enhancer" feature, which revitalizes your recovered photos. This feature requires server-side processing to perform the complex enhancement task.
  • Zero Long-Term Retention by Design: We state unequivocally that your source images are processed ephemerally.
    • Immediate Deletion from Servers: The source image is permanently and irrevocably deleted from our server's memory the instant the AI-generated artwork is successfully sent back to your device.
    • Strictly Temporary Processing: The retention period is measured in seconds and is limited strictly to the duration of the active processing task. Your images are not stored, cached, logged, or used for any other purpose, including training our AI models.

6. THIRD PARTY SERVICES AND PARTNERS SDKS

We may integrate third-party Software Development Kits (SDKs) for analytics and advertising. These partners may collect data directly from your device and typically act as independent "Data Controllers." We strongly encourage you to review their privacy policies.

a. AI Service Providers

i. Google (Gemini API)

Used specifically for our "Style Match" feature to analyze reference images and generate descriptive prompts. Their policies govern the data processed by this service.

By using our App, you acknowledge that these third parties may collect and process your data as described in their respective privacy policies.

7. APPLICATION PERMISSIONS AND THEIR PURPOSES

Our App requests only the minimum permissions necessary to provide its features. This section explains exactly which permissions the App may request and why we need them.

STT Permission (in app) - Dev Purposes
1 android.permission.INTERNET To connect to the internet. This is essential for displaying advertisements that support our free App and to check for updates.
2 android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE Allows the app to scan your device's storage to find recoverable files.
3 android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE Allows the app to save your recovered and AI-enhanced files directly back to your device's gallery or chosen location.
4 android.permission.MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (For Core Functionality) To perform a deep and thorough scan of recoverable files across all directories, ReVive requires the "All Files Access" permission. This is used exclusively for the data recovery feature and is essential for the app to locate and restore files effectively.
5 android.permission.SET_WALLPAPER Allows you to set a recovered or enhanced photo as your wallpaper directly from the app for your convenience.
6 com.recovery.protect.data.DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION Default app permission to ensure secure communication between the app's components.
7 android.permission.WAKE_LOCK Allows the app to keep the device's screen on during a long recovery or scanning process to prevent it from being interrupted.
8 com.google.android.finsky.permission.BIND_GET_INSTALL_REFERRER_SERVICE Default app permission used to securely attribute app installs for analytics.
9 com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID Used to access your device's unique, user-resettable advertising identifier. This helps our partners show you ads that are more relevant to you.
10 android.permission.ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION For Advertising, to help measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
11 android.permission.ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID For Advertising, to access the advertising-specific ID on supported Android versions.
12 android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS To send you occasional notifications to let you know when a recovery or scan is complete. This permission is optional.
13 com.google.android.c2dm.permission.RECEIVE Default permission in Android applications used for push notifications.
14 android.permission.ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS For Advertising, allows interest-based advertising while preserving privacy.
15 android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE Default app permission that allows long-running tasks like data recovery or scanning to continue even when the app is in the background.
16 android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE To check if your device is connected to the internet before displaying advertisements.
17 android.permission.USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT Used to display high-priority, full-screen reminder notifications on your lock screen at the scheduled times you set for the Recover Photos, Recover Video, and Scan Unfinished features. This permission only controls how the notification is displayed on-screen — it does not collect, read, or share any personal data. You can disable full-screen notifications anytime via Settings > Apps > Special app access > Full screen notifications, or from the app's own notification settings.
18 android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED Used to automatically re-register your scheduled reminder notifications and alarms after your device restarts, so the reminders you've set continue to work on time without needing to reopen the app.

8. DATA SECURITY AND RETENTION

  • Security: As all your personal files are processed on your device, you are in control of their security. For files placed in our Secure File Locker, they are encrypted and protected by the password you set. We implement appropriate technical measures to protect the anonymous Technical & Usage Data we collect.
  • Retention:
    • User-Provided Content (Images & Files): This data is never retained on our servers. It is processed and stored only on your local device.
    • Technical & Usage Data: This anonymous data is typically retained for a limited period necessary for analytics and advertising purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymized.

9. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Your anonymous Technical & Usage Data may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in jurisdictions outside your country of residence (such as the United States), where our third-party analytics and advertising partners operate.

10. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS AND CHOICES

You have rights concerning your Personal Data, subject to limitations provided by law.

  • Opt-Out of Personalized Advertising: You can limit ad tracking by resetting your device's advertising identifier through your device settings (e.g., On Android: Settings > Privacy > Ads).
  • Formal Rights Requests: Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to Access, Rectify, or Erase the Personal Data we hold about you. Because we do not store your personal files, erasure requests will primarily apply to the Technical & Usage Data associated with you.

11. JURISDICTION-SPECIFIC PROVISIONS

  • For Residents of the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, and Switzerland (under GDPR): You have the rights detailed in Section 10, as well as the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
  • For Residents of California (under CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected and to delete it. Our use of third-party advertising SDKs may be considered "sharing." You can exercise your right to opt-out by managing your device's advertising ID.

12. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

These Services are not directed to anyone under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.

13. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the App or by other means to allow you to review the changes before they become effective.
